Providing a reliable and safe water source will unlock potential by freeing up time for study, work and imagination. One of the handover day group photos:
Operational from 1st April, and officially handed over on 18th April, the Michesi Water Scheme is the result of a joint project between the charity Abbas Rest in Scotland, the Care and Share Centre in Chiringa, and the Rotary Club of Ayr in Scotland, supported by the Rotary Club of Maarssen in The Netherlands and the University of Strathclyde, with Nick Mannix. The two main contractors were Sagetech Investments Ltd and Yankho Electrical and Solar Contractors.
Our Project Manager in Chiringa is Forster Abraham, who, over two years of planning and implementation, has combined the ongoing tasks of caring for his community with the managing of visiting contractors and consultants, to bring the scheme to fruition. The Scheme Coordinator, who started in this new post on 1st April is Fyness Banda, who has a certificate in automobile mechanics.
