Abbas Rest Orphans, a registered Scottish Charity (no: SC 033166), was
started in March 2001 by Peter and Kirsi Poole to help orphans in
provincial towns of Chiringa and Muona in Malawi, Central Africa.
Those orphans are not reached by any other Charity Organisation, and Kirsi
and Peter have witnessed their suffering on their trips to Malawi.
Abbas Rest Orphans runs totally by donations from the public.
All the proceeds go straight to the
orphans and the clothes, toys and stationary are either taken over to
Malawi or shipped over with the help of The Raven Trust.
Peter and Kirsi Poole and Charles McGill (ARO planning & projects manager)
visit Malawi regularly. Charles McGill is there Feb-April 2006.
Also, volunteers from the U.K. and Finland
work with the ARO in Malawi.
