The Object of the Charity: To relieve poverty, sickness and distress and to advance the education of orphaned children in Malawi, and thereby improve their conditions of life.

Our stated purposes: The prevention or relief of poverty, the advancement of education, the advancement of health, and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.

Abbas Rest Orphans has four trustees: Madge Irving (retired from Nursing and Social Care), Muriel Wilson (a retired Church of Scotland deaconess), Jim Walsham (Ayr Health Services) and Malcolm McNeil. Advice and assistance are provided by Jenny Spence (in Castle Douglas), Avril Brown and Rev. David Bartholomew (in St John’s Town of Dalry), Allie Wilson (in Dumfries & Galloway), Fiona Boyd and Ian McFadzean (Gift Aid), Ian Dickson (Treasurer & website), Kenneth Millar (Annual Reports), Cara Moynihan (labels & emails), Jeff Whittle (of Minuteman Press, Ayr) and many other kind supporters. The Abbas Rest logo was designed by Gillian Aitken.

Care and Share Malawi, is a registered (2015) in Malawi as a Faith Based Organisation, with three Trustees (George Makawa, Timothy Mukota and Eunice Muleso). Forster Abraham is the Manager, his wife Cecilia handles office issues, and Blessings Chipoka is the Project Co-Ordinator. The Care and Share logo was designed by Forster Abraham.
